Drill Instructor/Teaching Assistant in Chinese

The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University anticipates one or more openings for a full-time Drill Instructor/Teaching Assistant in Chinese expected to begin August 1, 2016, and to extend through June 30, 2017.  Drill instructors assist course heads in Chinese language classes, assist in preparation of teaching materials, and teach individual drill sections.  Candidates must have native or near-native fluency in Chinese; a bachelor’s degree or higher; experience teaching Chinese at the college level to students whose native language is English; and computer literacy.  Candidates with experience teaching intensive summer programs in China for U.S. college students (such as Harvard Beijing Academy) preferred.  Candidates with a master’s degree and advanced fluency in English are also preferred.
